Manchester United has reportedly been offered the chance to sign Barcelona forward Ferran Torres, who is likely to be available this summer. Barcelona is looking for solutions to its financial problems, which could lead to offloading some significant players, including Torres, despite his strong performance this season.
The 26-year-old has shown impressive productivity for Hansi Flick’s side, scoring 16 goals and providing one assist this term, even though he hasn’t always been a regular starter.
According to reports, Barcelona has offered Torres to both Manchester United and Atletico Madrid. The reports suggest that the Red Devils have been looking for a versatile attacking player of this profile, making Torres a potentially ideal fit for them.
Ferran Torres already has experience winning the Premier League title during his time with United’s rivals, Manchester City, and has also secured two La Liga titles with Barcelona. Adding such an experienced and decorated player would undoubtedly benefit the United squad, depending on the asking price.
It is speculated that the offer for Torres might be linked to Barcelona’s negotiations for Marcus Rashford. The Catalan club might hope to reduce the transfer fee for Rashford by including the Spanish forward in the deal.
While Rashford’s long-term future at Barcelona remains uncertain (with PSG and AC Milan also showing interest), United should consider signing Torres, especially if Rashford does not return to Old Trafford as a key player. Torres, who scored 16 out of 25 in a ‘Transfer Fit’ rating system, could be a valuable addition to Manchester United’s attack.
