Olympique de Marseille is reportedly keen on acquiring AFC Bournemouth`s attacking midfielder, Hamed Junior Traoré, aged 25. Sources indicate that Marseille`s key decision-makers, President Pablo Longoria and Director of Football Medhi Benatia, are particularly interested in the Ivory Coast international.
The 25-year-old made a significant impact last season in Ligue 1 during his loan spell at Auxerre from Bournemouth, where he impressively contributed ten goals and two assists across 26 matches.
Traoré`s adaptability, being proficient as both an attacking midfielder and a winger, would be a valuable asset for Roberto De Zerbi’s squad, especially following the recent transfer of Jonathan Rowe to Bologna. A move to Marseille would also mark a reunion for Traoré with the Italian manager, as they previously worked together at Sassuolo. His strong performances with the Neroverdi were instrumental in securing his five-year deal with Bournemouth.
Despite his long-term contract, Traoré has yet to firmly establish himself at Bournemouth. After just six months with the club in Southern England, he was sent on loan to Napoli. This was followed by a more successful second loan period at Auxerre.
While Traoré remains an option for Bournemouth`s head coach Andoni Iraola – evidenced by his assist in the opening Premier League matchday against Liverpool – other clubs are also monitoring his situation. Both Lyon and Monaco have reportedly shown interest in the player, with Bournemouth reportedly declining an approach from Lyon.
