Olympique Marseille has reportedly reached a preliminary agreement with Juventus for the loan acquisition of Timothy Weah, 25, which includes a mandatory purchase clause. The American international appears poised for a return to French football`s top tier.
Earlier this summer, Weah was reportedly close to joining Nottingham Forest, but that potential transfer fell through. The 25-year-old winger has since prioritized a move back to France and is now expected to sign a five-year contract with OM upon the conclusion of his initial loan period. He previously had a stint in Ligue 1 with Lille.
Marseille and the Turin-based club have settled on a transfer fee ranging from €12 million to €15 million, which will be paid after the completion of the loan. Weah, a former Lille player, is now set to travel to Southern France for a medical examination before his official presentation as an Olympique Marseille player. His versatility and ability to operate effectively in various positions on the right flank will be a significant asset to Roberto De Zerbi`s squad.
