French club Marseille is actively searching for a new left-back and has reportedly set its sights on two players from the Premier League. The Ligue 1 side aims to fill the void left by Quentin Merlin.
One player of interest is Kostas Tsimikas, the 29-year-old Greek international currently with Liverpool. Tsimikas is expected to depart the Premier League champions, especially following their recent acquisition of Milos Kerkez, and he is reportedly open to exploring a new challenge elsewhere.
In addition to Tsimikas, Marseille is also closely monitoring West Ham United`s Emerson Palmieri. The 31-year-old Italy international is no stranger to French football, having previously completed a loan spell at Lyon during the 2021-2022 Ligue 1 campaign while still under contract with Chelsea. His prior experience in the league could make him a compelling option.
Marseille executives are currently holding internal discussions to decide which of Tsimikas or Palmieri would be the most suitable candidate to bolster Roberto De Zerbi`s squad options for the upcoming season.
