Fabrizio Romano reports that RC Strasbourg Alsace is poised to acquire 20-year-old Maxi Oyedele from Legia Warsaw. The French club activated his €6 million release clause, and the Polish international, originally from Salford, has successfully completed his medical examination. He is expected to sign a contract extending until 2030.
Oyedele developed through Manchester United`s youth academy, gaining valuable professional experience during loan spells with Altrincham F.C. and Forest Green Rovers. He departed his boyhood club for Legia Warsaw last summer. As part of this transfer to the Ligue 1 team, Manchester United is set to receive 40% of the transfer fee.
During his time at Legia Warsaw, Oyedele featured in 24 matches across all competitions, including five appearances in the UEFA Europa Conference League. Notably, he was part of the Legia squad that achieved a surprising 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the second leg of their quarter-final tie, although Legia Warsaw was ultimately eliminated from the competition with a 3-0 first-leg defeat.
