Mitchell Marsh is a candidate to start Australia’s Worl Cup innings at the ICC World Cup 2023. Even though the ICC World Cup 2023 has not yet begun, it is keeping everyone on their toes. With each day that goes by, the excitement doubles. The cricket extravaganza will begin on October 5 in India, with the final scheduled for November 19. The opening match of the tournament will feature a thrilling contest between England and New Zealand.

One of the heavy favourites to win the ICC World Cup in 2023 will be Australia. They will pose the greatest threat to every team in the tournament, which is scheduled to take place in October and November, based on their current play and the makeup of their team.

Australia has given a huge hint about the upcoming World Cup by stating that Micthell Marsh will be a serious contender to open the innings in the ICC World Cup 2023. The team management wants to take advantage of the all-rounder’s hot form because it has been evident in every game of cricket he has played.

Mitchell Marsh was outstanding as the opener in the earlier this year ODI series against Australia. In three matches, he struck twice for fifty, hitting at 131.08. In the T20I series against South Africa, he also displayed excellent form, scoring 186 runs in the three games while striking at 186 with a best of 92*.

Michael di Venuto, the batting coach for the Australian cricket team, made a hint that Mitchell Marsh might start the game. He clarified:

“We have a lot of options for opening the batting going forward. When it comes to the World Cup, David Warner, Mitch Marsh, and Travis Head are all candidates to open the batting because of their recent strong performances. Trav was excellent tonight; he stood much more still and responded to the ball very well. He can hit from anywhere on the pitch.
