Mohammad Hafeez speaks about contacting Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim.Pakistan men’s cricket team director Mohammad Hafeez disclosed that he spoke with speed bowler Mohammad Amir and all-rounder Imad Wasim, sharing specifics of their conversation.

Before Pakistan’s tour to Australia, Mohammad Hafeez said in a press conference that he had spoken with Imad Wasim before he retired and informed him that he would be playing for the squad in the forthcoming Twenty20 International Series against New Zealand.

“I told Imad Wasim that I had him in mind for Pakistani cricket. Even though he had been given a central contract, he had not yet signed it,” Hafeez stated.

When I inquired if he would be available for the New Zealand series, he said that he would consider it and get back to me. Two days later, he announced his retirement, having withdrawn from the New Zealand series.

He then expressed gratitude for Imad Wasim’s contributions to the Pakistan cricket squad and bestowed future wishes onto him. “Imad deserves the best because he has served Pakistan Cricket with the highest integrity.”

The discussion between Hafeez and Mohammad Amir, who stunned the cricket community in 2020 by abruptly retiring at the age of 28, was then discussed.
