Monaco Responds to Eliesse Ben Seghir Transfer Rumors

Football & Cricket

Intense speculation surrounds AS Monaco`s promising midfielder, Eliesse Ben Seghir (20), with reports from L`Équipe indicating that discussions for a potential transfer to Bayer Leverkusen are progressing positively.

The Moroccan international, who participated in Monaco’s opening Ligue 1 match last weekend, was seen taking part in Friday’s training session.

During a pre-match press conference held prior to Sunday’s fixture against Lille OSC, Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro, alongside coach Adi Hütter, addressed the media. Scuro chose not to comment directly on the rumors concerning Ben Seghir’s future, stating simply:

“I don’t know what will happen.”

Nevertheless, Scuro acknowledged that the upcoming days could prove quite dynamic for the club, as Monaco aims to optimize its squad size. He further elaborated:

“We are working on some situations… it is a transfer window where lots will happen in the coming days; it was quiet at the beginning. Now it is starting to move. It looks like it will be busy.”

Beyond Ben Seghir, who is reportedly valued at approximately €35 million by Bayer Leverkusen, other players such as Breel Embolo and Krépin Diatta are also subjects of transfer speculation, potentially signaling further departures from the club.
