On Tuesday, Pravin Mundhe, Mumbai’s deputy commissioner of police, stated that the police were ready for the India vs. New Zealand semifinal match at Wankhede Stadium.

Mundhe stated, “Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai is hosting the upcoming India Vs. New Zealand semi-final match (ICC World Cup).” in an interview with news agency ANI. The stadium has already held four games, so in terms of security, we are ready.

He claimed that because the game was so important, security would be tightened by the Mumbai Police.

“We have tightened security in light of the importance of this semifinal encounter. There will be about 600 men and 120 officers stationed inside and outside the stadium.

Mundhe continued, “Strike forces, riot control parties, and quick reaction teams have been deployed in addition to the officers.”

In addition, he stated, “we have riot control parties, quick reaction teams, and supporting striking forces available to basically take care of the security.”

Mundhe went on to say that distinct teams have been established to make sure that offenses like theft and eve-teasing are reduced.

“We are making sure that there are teams that will handle black marketing, eve-teasing, and general criminal control measures like theft in addition to the stringent access control. There are special squads on the move. We have also sent out special squads to ensure that there are no unauthorized hawkers or unlawful sales of any kind within or near the stadium. Additionally, plans for traffic have been established.
