Reports surfacing on Thursday indicate that Napoli has reached a verbal agreement for the permanent transfer of Miguel Gutierrez, a talented left-back from LaLiga club Girona. The Italian giants are also pursuing a potential double deal, aiming to secure the arrival of Gutierrez`s compatriot, Juanlu Sanchez, from Sevilla.
Napoli Agrees Fee for Girona`s Gutierrez
Napoli is actively working in the transfer market to bolster Antonio Conte`s squad ahead of the new season.
According to reputable football journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Partenopei have verbally agreed to a transfer fee of €18 million plus additional bonuses for the 24-year-old Miguel Gutierrez. The promising defender is a product of Real Madrid`s esteemed youth academy.
Juanlu, the other prospective signing, has already conveyed his preference to join Napoli during this transfer window. He has also given his approval to the terms of a long-term, five-year contract, which would keep him at the club until the summer of 2030, provided the deal is successfully concluded.
It`s worth noting that Real Madrid holds a buy-back clause for Gutierrez, but current expectations are that they will not activate this option. Once Real Madrid`s decision is officially confirmed, Napoli is anticipated to proceed with the final formalities to complete Gutierrez`s transfer.
In addition to strengthening the left side, Napoli also plans to reinforce the right flank of their defense with the acquisition of right-back Juanlu. This move comes after they reportedly increased their offer for the player to between €16 million and €17 million, according to various reports on Wednesday.
