Napoli is reportedly once again turning its attention to the Premier League for potential new signings, with Chelsea`s wide forward Raheem Sterling identified as a possible alternative to Bologna`s Dan Ndoye. The Neapolitan club has previously secured high-profile talents like Kevin De Bruyne as a free agent from Manchester City, and successfully integrated Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay into their Serie A squad, where he became a standout player in his debut season.
According to the Corriere dello Sport newspaper, Napoli is currently exploring the possibility of acquiring Sterling, who is considered surplus to requirements at Chelsea.
Sterling Emerges on Napoli`s Transfer Wishlist
The England international, set to turn 30 in December, offers versatility across various attacking positions, making him a potentially valuable asset for Antonio Conte`s squad. Sterling`s current contract with Chelsea extends until June 2027. Last season, he spent time on loan at Arsenal, where he made 28 appearances across all competitions, including 13 starts. During his stint with the Gunners, Sterling registered one goal and five assists.
He is being considered either as an additional attacking option or, more likely, as an alternative target if Bologna`s winger Dan Ndoye, valued at over €40 million with add-ons, proves too expensive.
