After successfully bringing in Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund, Serie A club Napoli is reportedly setting its sights on a third Manchester United player: young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo. The Italian side is said to be keen on restarting negotiations for the player in the upcoming January transfer window.
Reports from multiple sources indicate Napoli`s strong interest in Mainoo, who has seen limited playing time this season for Manchester United. The promising midfielder has only accumulated 200 minutes across all competitions, making just four substitute appearances in the Premier League.

Both The Daily Mail and TMW corroborate that Napoli has been closely observing the 20-year-old talent. Mainoo was already on their radar as a potential transfer target during the previous summer transfer window.
According to the English press, Mainoo was reportedly willing to join Napoli on a loan deal a few months ago. However, the Red Devils ultimately blocked his departure, opting to keep him at Old Trafford for the current campaign.
TMW further suggests that the English midfielder might push for a move away in January if his opportunities for regular first-team football do not significantly improve. This situation would undoubtedly bolster Napoli`s position as a prime contender for his signature.
The Italian publication also highlights that Napoli`s directors engaged in discussions with Mainoo`s agents over the summer, expressing “great interest” in securing his services. They are now prepared to make a renewed attempt to sign him in the next transfer window, should Mainoo actively seek to leave Manchester United.
