Nepal and Oman have successfully secured their qualification for the 2026 T20 World Cup, set to be hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Their spots were confirmed even before their Super Six fixture in the Asia-EAP Qualifier, with the UAE also in a strong position to join them.

The qualification of both Nepal and Oman was cemented following the United Arab Emirates` dominant 77-run victory over Samoa earlier in the day. This crucial result placed Oman and Nepal at the forefront of the Super Six points table, with each team accumulating four points, separated only by their net run rate. The tournament is set to send one additional team to the global event.
Currently sitting in third place, the UAE is scheduled to play Japan in a pivotal match on October 16, where they will aim to clinch the final available qualification spot for the World Cup.
Nepal`s journey to the T20 World Cup has been significantly bolstered by the exceptional performance of wrist-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane. He has taken ten wickets across four innings, boasting an impressive average of 9.40 and an economy rate of under six. His crucial spell of 5 for 18 was instrumental in helping Nepal restrict Qatar to 142 while defending a target of 148 runs.
For Oman, Jiten Ramanandi has proven to be a vital contributor. He stands as the tournament`s fourth-highest wicket-taker, securing seven strikes in four innings at an economy rate of 5.90. The left-arm seamer had also previously showcased his formidable skill against India in the Asia Cup, where he claimed the significant wickets of Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma.
