According to recent reports, OGC Nice has entered the competition to acquire Hamari Traoré (33), the former captain of Stade Rennais, who is currently playing for Real Sociedad. This interest arises amidst ongoing uncertainty regarding the future of Jonathan Clauss (32) in southern France, with Traoré being viewed as a potential successor to the former Olympique de Marseille and RC Lens fullback.
Nice is not alone in its bid to sign the seasoned defender. Lille OSC, Zenit Saint-Petersburg, and an unnamed La Liga club are also reportedly keen on securing Traoré. For Lille, bringing in Traoré would significantly strengthen their squad. Despite the strong competition, sources suggest that Nice is currently in a leading position to finalize his transfer.
Traoré’s time with Real Sociedad appears to be nearing its end, and his departure is widely anticipated this summer. He had previously been close to a move to newly promoted Paris FC. However, reports indicate that Red Bull, a minority owner of the club, intervened to halt that particular transfer.
