According to recent reports, OGC Nice is showing keen interest in acquiring 27-year-old midfielder Mahdi Camara from Stade Brestois this summer. This potential transfer comes as Nice aims to bolster its midfield, which reportedly displayed vulnerabilities during their recent 2-0 home defeat to SL Benfica in a UEFA Champions League qualifier.
Seeking to act swiftly in the transfer market, Les Aiglons have reportedly identified Camara as a primary target. Brest is said to be seeking approximately €8 million for the midfielder. Camara has been a subject of transfer speculation throughout the summer, having previously been linked with clubs from the United States and Russia.
Camara has been an indispensable part of the Brest squad since joining in the summer of 2022 from his formative club, AS Saint-Étienne. Last season, he played a pivotal role for Les Pirates, contributing significantly to their journey to the UEFA Champions League playoff rounds. Their European campaign concluded after facing the eventual champions, Paris Saint-Germain.
