Olympique Marseille Football Club has officially announced the signing of 24-year-old midfielder Matt O`Riley. The Danish international has joined the French team on a season-long loan from English club Brighton & Hove Albion. It is important to note that the agreement does not include an option for a subsequent permanent transfer.
The Danish midfielder, who has already appeared twice for Brighton in the current Premier League season, will spend the remainder of the campaign in France, representing Marseille. O`Riley`s arrival is intended to significantly bolster Olympique`s midfield, as the club is actively seeking to strengthen its squad before the transfer window closes, especially following recent setbacks – two defeats in three Ligue 1 matches, including Sunday`s loss to Lyon.
Matt O`Riley, with experience playing for the Danish national team, previously distinguished himself at Scottish club Celtic before moving to Brighton last season. With the Seagulls, he made 23 Premier League appearances, scoring three goals.
