FC Metz has officially secured the services of Fado Ballo-Touré, 28, on a free transfer. The experienced defender joins the club after spending the latter half of the previous season with Le Havre AC.
Ballo-Touré, a former player for prominent European clubs such as AC Milan and AS Monaco, featured in 10 matches during his six-month tenure in the Normandy region. His contributions were instrumental in helping Les Ciel et Marines successfully maintain their status in Ligue 1. He was among several players who initially joined on short-term agreements and subsequently departed upon the expiration of their contracts.
After an extensive search for a new club throughout the summer, Ballo-Touré has now secured his move to Metz, signing with Les Grenats following the closure of the transfer window. The left-back`s contract extends until the end of the current season, with a significant clause allowing for an optional extension of an additional year.
Currently, after the initial three rounds of Ligue 1 fixtures, FC Metz remains the only team yet to register their first point in the league standings.
