OGC Nice has officially announced that club president Jean-Pierre Rivère will be stepping down from his position. Fabrice Bocquet, who has served as the General Manager since 2022, is set to be promoted as his replacement. Rivère`s departure from the presidential role is effective August 20th.
Rivère has been at the helm of OGC Nice for the past 14 years, having first taken charge in 2011. He is credited with guiding the club into a new, modern era. Under his leadership, Nice became a regular participant in European competitions, successfully qualifying seven times.
A significant achievement during his presidency was attracting investment from the INEOS group in 2019, which resulted in them becoming the new majority shareholders of Les Aiglons.
Rivère`s New Role
Despite transitioning away from the presidency, Rivère will continue his association with OGC Nice beyond August 20th. He is slated to take on a new position, serving as the club`s ambassador and president of its endowment fund.
