Olympique de Marseille has officially confirmed their intention to hold another mid-season training camp in Rome. This decision echoes a similar successful visit to the Italian capital last season, which was undertaken at the specific request of their manager, Roberto De Zerbi.
Immediately following their highly anticipated `Le Classique` match against Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday evening, OM will make the brief journey to Rome on Monday. The Ligue 1 club is scheduled to remain in Italy for several days as part of their preparations for their next fixture against Strasbourg, slated for Friday, September 26th. This strategic move is reportedly the result of a mutual and harmonious agreement reached between the former Brighton coach and the club`s senior management at Stade Vélodrome.
The club, frequently referred to as Les Phocéens, notably described last season’s two-week-long training period in Rome as unequivocally “successful.” Driven by this positive sentiment and the “unanimously positive” feedback received from all players who participated in the previous camp, Marseille has confidently opted to return, hoping to replicate the beneficial outcomes.
