PAK Vs AUS ICC Men’s CWC23 Warm-up Match, Hyderabad, 2nd Powerplay Score Update - AUS Inning

We have been moved to the ultimate day of the warm-up matches of the ICC Men’s Cricket Worldcup 2023. Today, PAK will face on AUS. The match is being played at Hyderabad, India, one of three venues chosen for Worldcup warm-up games.

This time, the vice captain of Pakistan Cricket team, Shadab khan, came into the middle together with Pat Cummins who won the toss and decided to give his batters a good day at the batting track and set a mighty total against out of form Pakistani bowling attack. Skipper Babar Azam is rested today and Shaheen in for opening the bowling for Pakistan. 

David Warner and Mitchell March open the inning for Australia and they provided a solidplatform without giving away any wickets to Pakistani quicks in the 1st powerplay. Shaheen and Hassan never let two openers to open their shoulder but they were merciless when Haris came to bowl. Australia were capable to score 64/0 in 1st powerplay of the ICC CWC23, India, smashing five 4s and three 6s. 

No Pakistani bowler manage to take down both the openers and hence AUS win this phase convincingly. Despite trying all four quicks Australia dominated them all in some style. Warner scored 32 off 25 striking at 128 whilst Marsh grabbed 15 off 29. On the other hand, Hassan Ali proved economical in his 4-overs spell where he only conceded 12 with the economy of 3.

The First Wicket fell on 83 when Warner holed out on Usama Mir’s delivery and caught by Haris rauf on deep midwicket. He was sent back to the pavilion after scoring 48 of 33. His excellent knock included four 4s and three 6s.

The onset of 2nd powerplay of ICC’s Cricket Worldcup 2023 India’s warm-up match was more threatening as Australian openers continue their charge against the pace-attack. Shadab sensed the demand wisely and let Usama Mir bowl the 13th over of the inning. 

Usama didi what he had been brought for. 1st Warner and then he removed Marsh in quick succession. Both openers went back to the dugout when team’s total was 92 in 14.1 overs.

One-down Steven Smith and two-down Marnus Labuschagne rebuilt the inning for Australia. Pakistan side leaked runs consistantly in bowling and fielding too. Marnus Laabuschagne and Steven Smith rebuilt the inning and scored runs freely until Nawaz came in the 24th over of the inning to remove Marus who edged the ball straight to the wicketkeeper’s gloves. 59-run stand was broken when AUS were 151/3 after 23.2 with run rate of 6.47 when Marus departed on 40 off 31 balls striking 129. He scored five 4s in his inning.

Before Alex Carey could settled down a bit, Steven Smith also joined his teammates in the dugout thanks to Haris. He removed Smith by an outside edge to the Haris’ gloves. He score 27 off 29 with the help of tow boundaries. Australia were 153/4 in their 24.3 overs.

At the end of the half stage of the inning Australia were 155/4 with the runrate of 6.20 including thirteen 4s and five 6s. Till then, Shadab, the skipper, used 7 different bowlers in the 2nd and last warm-up of Pakistan to try his luck with Haris and Nawaz getting one whilst Usama grabbed two preys.

Alex Carey and Maxwell came out for the 5th wicket partnership in the practice game against PAK and both aimed at scoring big from there on. They weren’t taking any further risk as they were already 4-down in the 1st half of the inning.

Their cautuis partnership came to an end when misunderstanding between them was created by smart fielding from Shadab which consequestly sending Carey back home. Shadab’s smart fielding let him runout at 172 in the 30th over. Carey, who looked nervous all the way, departed after scoring 11 off 14.

Cameron Green Joined Maxwell into the middle to help him setting a big total for team Pakistan in the current warm-up game of Crickrt Worldcup 2023, India. Maxwell missed the spark in the beginnging of his inning but played some brilliant shots once he got set.

The pick of the batter for the 2nd powerplay (11-40) was Maxwell who rebuilt the innings successfully. He brought up his half century with a mighty six to Shadab in just 55 balls striking at 96 till then. From Pakistan, it was Usama Mir with 2 quick wickets to set the tone for Pakistan giving away 31 in his 5-overs spell. 

To be precise, Australia were 248/5 with the current runrate of 6.13 at the end of the powerplay. They grabbed 184 in the 2nd powerplay of the innings losing 5 wickets to Pakistani bowlers. Maxwell seemd to be shifting gears after his 50-mark and scored 76 off 68 with a strike rate of 112 including four 4s and six 6s at the end of the powerplay.
