Pakistan Vs Newzealand Warm-up Match 01, Hyderabad 2nd Power Play Score Update - NZ Inning

The warm-up phase of ICC WC 2023 has kicked off with Babar Azam winning the toss and choosing to bat first in the opening game of the WC23 against the NZ. while batting first, Pakistan put a massive total of 345 on board thanks to Rizwan and Babar in the middle and Saud in the later stage of the game with their massive contributions. It’s 346 that NZ have to chase down to mark their world cup journey with style. 

The two left-arm batter i.e. Rachin Ravindra averaging 23+ and Devon Conway averaging  46 in ODIs started the chase for NZ.  From Pakistan, it’s Haris Rauf to open the innning. Hassan Ali, who has been uder the radar for his inclusion in the Squad for WC who sent back Davon Conway on duck to the pavillion.

Kane Williamson joined the other opener for this crucial chase against Haris and Hassan. Both players took charge and provide solid platform for chasing 340+ target. They managed to score 65 for the loss of 1 wicket in the mandatory Powerplay smashing 11 boundaries together. The 1st phase belonged to Team New Zealand that stunned Pakistan Cricket Team in the first warm-up match. 

At the end of the powerplay, Williamson scored 25 whereas Ravindra also managed  32 at 100+ strike rate at the end of the powerplay.

Babar continued his spin attack to tacke the agression shown by both these batters. But the onset of the 2nd phase was wither not helping Pakistani bowlers. NZ were 100 up in the 14th over of the inning.  RR completed his fifty in just 41 balls in the 13th over of the inning. Calm and composed KW also smashed the half centurie in just 49 deliveries in the 18th over of the inning. He also retired hurt at 54 off 50 to let Daryk Mitchel enjoy his luck.

Left-handed batter, Ravindra, played brilliantly, scored 97 off  72 with a strike 134+, fall pray to Agha Salman  in the 24th over. Further, Tom Latham added a few runs but dismissed by Usama Mir in his 6th over. He just scored 18 off 13. Pakistan looked in command with the wicket of Glenn Philips who had been fallen prey to Usama Mir when NZ was 218 for 4. It’s 2nd for Usama and 4th for Pakistan.

After the fall of Rachin and retirement of Williamson, Daryl Mitchell anchored the inning for NZ smartly supported by Mark Chapman. His half century just came in 56 balls with a humongous 6 towards long off to Usama Mir in the 36th. And with that 6 following another boundary, he was off to the pavilion to give way to James Neesham. At the end of the 2nd powerplay NZ had scored 294 at a run rate of 7.35. Conclusively, they had added 229 runs at the loss of 3 wickets in this 2nd powerplay with the run rate of 7.63. Nz require 52 more at the required run rate 5.2 in the final 10. 

The pick of the performers in this middle phase of ICC WC 2023 Warm up match No 01 were Rachin Ravindra who smashed 97 off 72, Daryl Mithcell with his 59 off 57 and Usama Mir who bowled his full quota of 10 overs giving away 68 runs, dismissing 2 batters for setting the stage for other bowlers.
