Panathinaikos Agrees Deal for Lens Forward Anass Zaroury

Football & Cricket

Greek club Panathinaikos has reached an agreement with French side RC Lens to sign 24-year-old Anass Zaroury.

The Moroccan forward joined Lens from Burnley last summer for €5 million but struggled to meet expectations during his debut season with the French club. With Will Still`s departure and the arrival of new head coach Pierre Sage, Zaroury`s position in the squad became uncertain. Reports indicate he is not part of Sage`s plans for the upcoming season.

Zaroury also faced difficulties during Lens` pre-season preparations, leading to doubts about his continued presence at the club for the new season. He is now set to depart, as Panathinaikos has agreed to sign the Moroccan on a loan deal that includes a purchase option at the end of the season.
