Paris FC has officially announced the signing of experienced right-back Hamari Traoré, 33, from Spanish club Real Sociedad. The newly promoted French club successfully secured Traoré`s services, overcoming competition from several other Ligue 1 teams who had shown interest in the former Stade Rennais captain.
Initial interest from Paris FC in the defender appeared to wane earlier in the summer, despite reports suggesting a deal was close to being finalized. It was widely reported that the club`s minority owner, Red Bull, had temporarily paused the transfer, expressing a preference for recruiting younger players over the more experienced Traoré.
However, a shift in strategy became evident after Paris FC suffered two consecutive defeats in their opening Ligue 1 fixtures, highlighting a clear and immediate need for seasoned talent. This prompted the promoted side to re-engage with Real Sociedad, eventually reaching a €5 million agreement for the player. Traoré has committed to a two-year contract with Paris FC, bringing much-needed experience to the squad.
