Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has announced a two-day delay to the start of their first-team training camp, as reported by L`Équipe. Coach Luis Enrique`s squad, originally scheduled to reconvene on August 4th, will now return on August 6th. This adjustment leaves them with a mere week of preparation before their highly anticipated UEFA Super Cup match against Tottenham Hotspur.
This decision follows an exceptionally long and arduous season for PSG, which concluded as recently as July 13th. While the Parisian giants celebrated significant triumphs, including victories in the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and Trophée des Champions, their campaign ended with a notable disappointment, a defeat to Chelsea in the FIFA Club World Cup final.
The postponement is primarily due to travel disruptions experienced by several players returning from the FIFA Club World Cup held in the USA. Consequently, the PSG squad will have only seven days to train before their crucial Super Cup fixture against Tottenham on August 13th. Just four days later, Les Parisiens are set to kick off their Ligue 1 season with an away game against FC Nantes.
