Olympique Lyonnais has finalized the acquisition of Pavel Sulc, the 24-year-old Czechia international. He has committed to a four-year contract with the prominent Ligue 1 side.
Despite the club`s well-documented financial constraints and a recent shift towards austerity, Lyon has maintained an active presence in the summer transfer window. Already this period, players like Afonso Moreira, Ruben Kluivert, and Matt Turner have arrived. It is worth noting that OL had previously attempted to cancel Turner`s transfer, which was executed during the John Textor ownership era. Turner has since been immediately loaned out to the MLS.
Sulc represents the latest addition to the squad. The attacking midfielder makes his move from Viktoria Plzeň in a deal reportedly valued at €7.5 million. With 14 caps for Czechia, Sulc boasts an impressive performance record in his home country, having netted 33 goals and provided 15 assists across 66 matches over the past two seasons.
His new agreement with Olympique Lyonnais is set to run until 2029. It is also anticipated that he will soon be joined at OL by Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton.
