PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed his “hope” for Pakistan to host the Champions Trophy. 

Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed optimism and reaffirmed the board’s commitment to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan.

Addressing the media at the National Bank Stadium after the final of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9, Naqvi analyzed his participation in the recent ICC board meeting, where the focus was on the Champions Trophy 2025.

“We are determined to host the ICC Champions Trophy in our country. I hope this event will be held in Pakistan,” Naqvi said confidently.

Drawing attention to the importance of the Champions Trophy in the agenda of the ICC summit, Naqvi reiterated that the PCB is firmly committed to hosting the prestigious tournament.

In addition, Naqvi revealed intentions to renovate all of the nation’s major stadiums in time for the international tournament. “Our flagship locations in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi will be refurbished ahead of the Champions Trophy. Besides, other locations will also be refurbished to ensure state-of-the-art facilities are upgraded,” Naqvi explained.

During his meeting with Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jai Shah, Naqvi refrained from revealing specifics due to the sensitive nature of the issue and described it as “productive”. He stressed the commitment of PCB to host the Champions Trophy in Pakistan and assured that no effort has been spared to achieve this goal.

Replying to questions on the training staff, Naqvi stressed efforts to complete the selection process at the earliest. “We are working hard to finalize the coaching staff. Discussions are ongoing and our goal is to get the best people for the job,” he said.
