Paris Saint-Germain`s goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, aged 26, is reportedly nearing his departure from the French capital. According to insights from L`Equipe, the reigning Champions League winners have taken significant steps towards acquiring French international shot-stopper Lucas Chevalier. Donnarumma, an Italy international, has entered the final year of his current contract with the Parisian club. Reports suggest that no agreement on a new deal was reached during the recent Club World Cup.
Both Manchester City and Manchester United have reportedly expressed interest in securing Donnarumma`s services. Manchester City is said to be in the process of re-signing James Trafford, while André Onana`s performance for Manchester United, under Ruben Amorim, appears to have fallen short of expectations. L`Equipe further indicates that PSG`s strategy is to finalize Chevalier`s transfer before sanctioning Donnarumma`s exit from Luis Enrique`s squad.
