PSG Stars Suffer Injury Setbacks: Dembélé Out for Six Weeks, Doué to Miss UCL Opener

Football & Cricket

Paris Saint-Germain is facing significant injury concerns as forward Ousmane Dembélé, 28, is now expected to miss six weeks of action. The setback follows a hamstring injury sustained while playing for France in their recent victory against Ukraine on Friday night.

This latest injury is particularly frustrating for PSG, as Dembélé had only just recovered from a hamstring issue picked up the previous weekend during the club`s 6-3 triumph over Toulouse FC. In a concerning turn of events, while representing Les Bleus, he injured his other hamstring after entering the game as a half-time substitute, lasting less than 35 minutes on the pitch.

Reports indicate that PSG officials are “furious” with the French national team`s medical management, having reportedly informed them of Dembélé`s prior injury going into the international break. Consequently, the former Barcelona and Stade Rennais winger will miss crucial upcoming fixtures, including PSG`s UEFA Champions League opener against Atalanta later this month, and an early October clash against his former club, Barcelona, as confirmed by RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins.

Adding to the club`s woes, teammate Désiré Doué, 20, also suffered an injury during France`s match on Friday. Doué was withdrawn at half-time with a calf injury and is projected to be out for three to four weeks, according to L`Équipe. This means he is definitively ruled out of PSG’s Champions League opener against Atalanta and remains a doubt for the match against Barcelona.
