Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly establishing a specialized section within the Parc des Princes stadium. This new arrangement will enable head coach Luis Enrique to oversee certain matches from the spectator stands. For instance, during Les Parisiens` recent 2-0 triumph over Lens, the Spanish coach opted to observe the first half from the press box before rejoining the touchline for the second period.
While a manager`s relocation to the stands typically signifies a disciplinary measure, this is not the situation for Luis Enrique. The PSG coach holds the conviction that observing play from a fan`s viewpoint provides a clearer understanding of his players` performance. This perspective allows him to fine-tune his tactical instructions during half-time, after which he returns to his customary position in the dugout. Assistant coach Rafel Pol took charge on the touchline throughout the initial half.
The implementation of this dedicated viewing area for PSG`s upcoming home fixture against Auxerre is yet to be confirmed. This weekend, the club, a former UEFA Champions League winner, travels south for `Le Classique` against Marseille. However, reports indicate that during this crucial away game, any requests for Luis Enrique to coach from the stands will not be granted by the host club.
