Following injuries sustained by Ousmane Dembélé (28) and Désiré Doué (20) during international duty, Paris Saint-Germain has formally requested improved collaboration with the French national football team.
In an official press release, PSG revealed that a letter detailing their players` medical and physical conditions had been sent to the French Football Federation even before the recent international break. However, the club expressed concerns that these recommendations were not considered by Didier Deschamps in his team selection. The statement read: “The club regrets that its recommendations were not considered by the medical staff of the France national team, and further laments the complete absence of communication and consultation from their medical team.”
PSG further stated their hope that these “regrettable events” would pave the way for a new, formalized coordination framework between the club and Les Bleus. They urged the urgent implementation of these measures to establish more “transparent and collaborative” protocols.
Confirming the impact of their injuries sustained during the 2-0 victory over Ukraine on Friday, both Dembélé and Doué are set to miss Les Bleus` FIFA World Cup qualifier against Iceland on Tuesday. Dembélé is anticipated to be sidelined for approximately six weeks, while Doué`s recovery is expected to take around one month.
