PSG’s Presnel Kimpembe Could Make Qatar Switch

Football & Cricket

The long tenure of 29-year-old Presnel Kimpembe at his boyhood club, Paris Saint-Germain, appears to be nearing its conclusion, with a departure possible in the coming days, according to reports from Le Parisien.

Earlier this month, Le Parisien disclosed that PSG aims to offload the central defender. Kimpembe has faced a challenging period, having been sidelined for nearly two years following an Achilles injury sustained two and a half years ago. Despite returning to play in 2025, the French international has struggled to secure a regular spot in the squad.

Last season, his playing time was severely limited to just 76 minutes across five appearances, all occurring in the latter half of the campaign. Compounding this, he has been unable to maintain full fitness, experiencing several minor injuries during that period.

Currently, Kimpembe is not at peak physical condition. With the French transfer window drawing to a close, PSG is actively seeking solutions. Le Parisien suggests that a transfer involving the Frenchman leaving the Parc des Princes could quickly materialize.

A potential destination is Qatar, where PSG`s ownership group possesses the necessary connections to facilitate such a transfer. The Qatari transfer window remains open until September 16th, providing ample time for a deal to be finalized.
