PSL 9: After witnessing his family being tortured in Multan, Amir impels Maryam Nawaz to act. Talented Pakistani bowler Mohammad Amir has voiced his concern over the torture of his family during the ninth match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season in Multan and has urged newly appointed Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz him to do something about it. Amir alleged that Deputy Commissioner of Multan arrogantly owned the land and wrongfully evicted his family from the venue.

Notably, Amir is currently representing Quetta Gladiators in the PSL this season after parting ways with Karachi Kings. Despite of retirement,Amir is still playing many league of cricket and still enjoying.

The 31-year-old stressed the need of making an impact in Twenty20 cricket in an interview with Geo News, adding that he is more focused on playing actively in games than only taking wickets. 

He underlined that whether bowling or pressing for wickets, adjustments must be made when a situation is assessed. Amir emphasized that irrespective of individual statistics like centuries or five-wicket hauls, their contribution to the team’s success is paramount.

Calls for action have been sparked by the Amir family’s activities, which highlight the larger problem of player safety and respect in sports. As the PSL season continues, hopefully such issues will be addressed soon to ensure a positive and inclusive environment for the players and their families.
