Rain Spoils PSL 9 Matches in Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium

Rain Spoils PSL 9 Matches in Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. As Rawalpindi prepares to play two matches in the ninth season of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), the weather forecast threatens to hamper the cricketing action.

According to the Weather Update, there is a 100% chance of rain during the day, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Additionally, there is a chance of rain overnight, with a 90% chance.

Heavy rain lashed the region yesterday, setting the stage for potential weather-related challenges during today’s games. A spokesman from Met Office warned of continued rain with thunderstorms, particularly on Sunday, the day most affected by the upcoming rainy season.

The prospect of rain cast doubt on the matches, Pindi Stadium is known for its vibrant atmosphere and enthusiastic crowd. Despite being ready with almost makeshift seats thousands will be set up, the weather forecast raises concerns about the smoothness of the games.

Notably, the Pindi Stadium has witnessed some of the highest-scoring matches in PSL history, with notable cases of Multan Sultan and Quetta Gladiators scoring crucial points but the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) banned curators from accessing the “flat pitches” attached to the stadium ” which they claimed deviated from the issue, emphasizing the need for a pitch that balanced batting and football dynamics.

As cricket enthusiasts eagerly await a crowded match, the looming threat of bad weather highlights the unpredictability of the outdoor game, reminding players and spectators to adjust if conditions arise changing the character.
