Real Madrid Defender Raúl Asencio Hospitalized, to Miss Alavés Match

Football & Cricket

La Liga powerhouse Real Madrid will be without a key defender for their upcoming fixture against Deportivo Alavés. The player in question is Raúl Asencio.

Asencio was notably absent from the squad during Real Madrid’s midweek trip to Germany to face Bayern Munich. This absence was attributed to illness.

Further details regarding the severity of the Spaniard’s condition emerged on Saturday. According to a report from COPE:

“Real Madrid’s Spanish center-back, Raúl Asencio, visited the hospital on Saturday to be diagnosed with the virus causing a severe case of gastroenteritis.”

It is understood that Asencio has experienced a significant weight loss of six kilograms over the past two weeks due to his illness. Consequently, the 23-year-old has been ruled out of Real Madrid’s next La Liga match against Alavés on Tuesday night.
