Spanish football powerhouse Real Madrid has officially announced the internal disciplinary measures taken against midfielders Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni.
This decision follows a heated training session at Valdebebas on Thursday, which escalated into a physical confrontation between the two players in the locker room.
The incident led to Valverde sustaining a head injury requiring stitches and hospitalization.
Real Madrid confirmed the disciplinary proceedings had been initiated against both players.
As detailed in a statement released on the club’s official website and social media channels on Friday, both Valverde and Tchouaméni appeared before the assigned investigator.
During their appearance, the players conveyed their profound regret for the events and offered apologies to one another.
They also extended their apologies to the club, their teammates, the coaching staff, and the fans. Both players indicated their readiness to accept any sanctions the club deemed appropriate.
In light of these circumstances, Real Madrid has decided to impose a financial penalty of five hundred thousand euros on each player, bringing the internal proceedings to a close.
