Real Madrid has been dealt a significant squad blow today, stemming from their Champions League encounter with German powerhouse Bayern Munich.
The Spanish giants are currently engaged in crucial European action.
Following a weekend La Liga defeat to Mallorca that dented their title aspirations, Real Madrid welcomed Bayern Munich to Spain’s capital for this pivotal match.
However, as the game progressed, the hosts appeared to be heading for a second consecutive defeat, finding themselves trailing by a goal to nil.
The current scoreline, however, is not the only source of concern for the Madrid side.
During the first half, midfield enforcer Aurélien Tchouaméni was shown a yellow card. This booking, resulting from an accumulation of cautions in the Champions League, means the French international will be unavailable for the decisive return leg at the Allianz Arena next week.
