La Liga giants Real Madrid have reported a new personnel setback within their first-team ranks, confirming that Dani Carvajal is set for a period on the sidelines.
The defender Carvajal has faced challenges securing playing time recently, following his recovery from a previous injury. The 34-year-old, whose contract in the Spanish capital is due to conclude in the summer, has fallen behind in the right-back rotation within Álvaro Arbeloa’s squad.
This weekend, Carvajal’s prospects for the remainder of the season have unfortunately taken another negative turn. According to a statement released by Real Madrid on their official website and social media channels:
“Following tests conducted by the Real Madrid Medical Services on our player Dani Carvajal, he has been diagnosed with a fracture of the distal phalanx of the fifth toe on his right foot. His condition is pending further evaluation.”
The club hopes that the veteran defender will be fit to participate in the final round of La Liga matches this season.
