Rennes Explores Potential Loan Return for Martin Terrier

Stade Rennais has reportedly made inquiries with Bayer Leverkusen`s winger, Martin Terrier (28), concerning a possible loan move back to the Breton club. This information stems from a report by L’Équipe.

Terrier previously enjoyed a highly prolific four-year spell with the Brittany-based side between 2020 and 2024. During this period, he notably scored 51 goals in 141 appearances across all competitions before transferring to Bayer Leverkusen last July.

While “Les Rouge et Noir” briefly entertained the idea of bringing Martin Terrier back on loan this summer, these initial discussions did not advance beyond the inquiry stage. Last season, the French forward featured in 15 matches for Leverkusen, finding the back of the net twice.

Currently 28 years old and under contract in Germany until 2029, Terrier is still in the recovery phase from an Achilles tendon tear that kept him out for the entirety of the second half of last season. Despite Rennes actively seeking to bolster their attacking options in the transfer market, a reunion with their former key player appears to be an unlikely prospect at this time.
