Stade Rennais has reportedly set its sights on acquiring Stade Brestois 29`s 32-year-old midfielder, Pierre Lees-Melou. According to Foot Mercato, a potential transfer would only materialize should Rennes offload one of their current midfielders, specifically Jordan James, Glen Kamara, or Baptiste Santamaria.
Lees-Melou`s professional journey began at US Lège Cap-Ferret. In July 2015, he moved to Dijon FCO, where he played for two seasons. During his tenure, he helped the team achieve promotion to Ligue 1 in his inaugural season and accumulated 52 appearances.
A permanent transfer saw him join OGC Nice in June 2017, where he remained for five seasons, amassing 140 appearances at the Allianz Riviera. Subsequently, in June 2021, Lees-Melou ventured to England, signing with newly-promoted Premier League club Norwich City.
His stint in England proved challenging, and after just one season, he returned to France. July 2022 marked his arrival at Brest, where he has since completed three seasons. Notably, he played a pivotal role in their remarkable qualification for and participation in the UEFA Champions League. His current contract with Brest extends until June 2027.
