Rennes Joins Race for Marseille Forward Jonathan Rowe

Football & Cricket

Stade Rennais has reportedly entered the competition to acquire Olympique de Marseille`s 22-year-old forward, Jonathan Rowe.

Despite a somewhat inconsistent debut season with Marseille, Rowe managed to feature in 30 matches, contributing three goals and four assists. His recent strong performances for England in the Euro U21 championships have also enhanced his profile.

Marseille appears willing to consider offers for the English talent, attracting attention from various clubs across Europe. Notable interest has emerged from Turkish giants Besiktas and Fenerbahçe, as well as Italian club Atalanta. Several Premier League teams are also closely monitoring his situation. Reports suggest that Marseille has set a valuation of €20 million for the England youth international.

While Rennes is now actively pursuing Rowe, according to Foot Mercato, Marseille remains open to a potential transfer. However, the Breton club has not yet submitted a formal offer. This summer has already seen two players, Valentin Rongier and Quentin Merlin, complete transfers from Marseille`s Vélodrome to Rennes.
