Rennes Secures Przemyslaw Frankowski on Loan from Galatasaray

Football & Cricket

French Ligue 1 club Rennes has officially announced the acquisition of Polish wing-back Przemyslaw Frankowski, aged 30, on a loan deal from Turkish Süper Lig giants Galatasaray. The agreement includes a crucial option for Rennes to make the transfer permanent at the end of the loan period.

This strategic move addresses Rennes` need for a right-sided defensive reinforcement, especially following the departure of Academy product Lorenz Assignon to Stuttgart earlier in the summer transfer window.

Frankowski`s return to Ligue 1 is notable, as it marks just six months since his previous departure from Lens to join Galatasaray. He becomes Rennes` third summer signing, joining previously announced arrivals Valentin Rongier and Quentin Merlin, as the club continues to build its squad.

Significantly, the experienced wing-back is also the third former Lens player to be brought to Rennes under the tenure of president Arnaud Pouille. Pouille, who previously served as CEO of RC Lens, appears to favor talent from his former club, having already secured Brice Samba and Seko Fofana for the Brittany side during the last winter transfer window.
