AC Milan is reportedly preparing an improved offer to Strasbourg for defender Guéla Doué, a move anticipated earlier this week.
Doué, who is the elder brother of PSG player Désiré Doué, is primarily a right-back but can also operate as a centre-back or on the right flank in a four-man defence.
Milan has been tracking the player for some time. However, their previous hesitation cost them the signing of left-back Archie Brown, who joined Fenerbahce instead of the Rossoneri after their delay in finalizing a deal with KAA Gent.
Milan Faces Pressure to Secure Doué
Concerned about missing out again, reports indicate that Milan is now poised to submit a fresh, enhanced offer to Strasbourg.
Strasbourg previously rejected Milan`s initial offer, reported to be around €15 million, as the French club values the player at no less than €20 million.
The latest proposal from Milan is reportedly set at €18 million, which still falls short of Strasbourg`s valuation.
While Doué transferred to Strasbourg from Rennes for less than €7 million last summer, his market value has significantly increased since then.
The 22-year-old has chosen to represent the Ivory Coast internationally and has already earned five senior caps for his country.
