According to reports from Portugal, Everton offered to activate the €30 million release clause for Francisco Conceicao from FC Porto, but the player declined, indicating he only wishes to join Juventus.
The attacking midfielder spent last season on loan with Juventus and the club is keen to secure his services permanently.
However, Juventus is reportedly unwilling to meet the full €30 million clause, which is set to increase to €45 million shortly.
Sources suggest that Everton was the only club to table the €30 million offer, which Conceicao promptly rejected.
He is reportedly waiting for a move to Juventus.

Portuguese outlets warn that Juventus` lower bids, around €22-25 million, will not be accepted by Porto, as the club insists on the full release clause amount.
Conversely, Sky Sport Italia claims Juventus is nearing an agreement for €25 million plus performance-related add-ons.
It remains uncertain if these bonuses will bridge the gap, but Porto appears firm on their valuation.
Juventus had previously paid €10 million for the one-year loan and had hoped for a similar arrangement, but Porto rejected the idea of another loan spell.
