Mateo Retegui, the prolific striker for Atalanta, has reportedly traveled to Saudi Arabia to finalize his transfer to Al-Qadsiah. This move follows a period of intense speculation surrounding his future.
The Italian forward garnered significant attention after concluding the 2024-25 Serie A season as the leading goal-scorer, making him a highly sought-after talent.
Despite the widespread interest, the Saudi club, Al-Qadsiah, emerged as the frontrunners in the race and now appear poised to secure a high-value deal for the 26-year-old.

Details of Retegui’s Transfer to Al-Qadsiah
The transfer agreement, which experienced some delays in recent days due to the bureaucratic processes within the Saudi Pro League, is now reportedly on the verge of being finalized.
Al-Qadsiah is expected to pay Atalanta a substantial fee, believed to be in the region of €68.5 million. This sum includes an estimated €3.7 million designated for Retegui`s former clubs, covering solidarity payments.

Retegui`s annual salary is anticipated to be around €20 million, a remarkable increase that would see him earning an estimated eight times more than his previous salary at Atalanta. This lucrative move comes after a highly successful season with `La Dea` (Atalanta). However, it has also been suggested that this transfer might impact his chances of future selection for the Italian national team.
