AS Roma has officially secured the services of promising young defender Jan Ziolkowski, completing his permanent transfer from Legia Warsaw.
The 20-year-old Polish center-back`s move is reported to be valued at €6 million, with potential additional payments through various add-ons. As part of the agreement, Legia Warsaw will also be entitled to a 10% sell-on clause for any future transfer involving the player.
Ziolkowski has committed his future to the Giallorossi by signing a comprehensive five-year contract, which will keep him at the Stadio Olimpico until the summer of 2030.
For his inaugural season with the club, Roma has confirmed that the new recruit will proudly wear the No. 24 shirt.

“Ziolkowski has chosen the No. 24 jersey at Roma. Welcome to Rome, Jan!”
Coach Gasperini`s Perspective on the New Signing
Head coach Gian Piero Gasperini offered his thoughts on Ziolkowski`s signing during his pre-match press conference on Friday. He hinted that the player`s arrival was primarily spearheaded by sporting director Ricky Massara, rather than being a direct request from the coaching staff.
“Massara discovered Ziolkowski,” Gasperini stated. “I have confidence in him. I`ve only seen him in video footage. He will certainly get opportunities, and we will observe his development closely. We hope he can reach a high level.”
