Speculation is mounting that AS Roma aims to reunite midfielder Matteo Pessina with coach Gian Piero Gasperini, while Tommaso Baldanzi is set to join Verona. The Rome-based club is reportedly looking for a distinct midfield profile, ideally a player already well-versed in Gasperini`s tactical system.
Leading Italian sports outlets, including Sky Sport Italia, Calciomercato.com, and Sport Mediaset, indicate that this proposed move, initiated by agent Beppe Riso, is rapidly advancing.
Pessina Tipped to Fill Baldanzi`s Role at Roma

Tommaso Baldanzi`s anticipated loan to Hellas Verona for increased playing time was already known. Now, Pessina is emerging as the chosen replacement for him at the Stadio Olimpico. The proposed deal for Pessina involves a loan from Serie B club Monza, with an option for a permanent transfer at the season`s conclusion.
The 28-year-old midfielder saw limited action last season due to injury, but has made a full recovery after undergoing surgery for a torn tendon. During his tenure under Gasperini at Atalanta, Pessina accumulated 96 appearances, contributing six goals and four assists.
Concurrently, AS Roma has confirmed the loan transfer of Anass Salah-Eddine to PSV Eindhoven, also with an option for a permanent move at the end of the current season.
