According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, AS Roma has successfully reached an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion for the loan transfer of promising striker Evan Ferguson. The deal reportedly includes an option for Roma to make the move permanent for a fee of €38 million.
Negotiations for the young forward have been protracted, with a notable initial disparity between Roma`s proposed €30 million offer and Brighton`s valuation, which was closer to €40 million.

Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio indicates that the total cost of the acquisition, encompassing both the loan arrangement and the potential buy option at the conclusion of the season, is projected to fall within the €35-40 million bracket, likely settling around €38 million once add-ons are factored in.
With the club agreement now in place, AS Roma`s next step is to finalize the personal terms and contractual details with the Republic of Ireland international. This stage is not anticipated to present significant hurdles.
The 20-year-old centre-forward recently concluded a six-month loan spell with West Ham United. Prior to that, he had been a part of Brighton`s squad since 2021.
Notably, Ferguson had previously been a target for coach Gian Piero Gasperini during his tenure at Atalanta. Gasperini`s strong interest in the player persisted and has now carried over to his new role with Roma.
