AS Roma has reportedly increased its offer to Flamengo for the Brazilian forward Wesley to €25 million, while simultaneously preparing a separate proposal for Hellas Verona`s promising young defender, Daniele Ghilardi.
The negotiations for Wesley have been somewhat protracted. It was widely anticipated that the Giallorossi would submit a revised bid after their initial offer of €20 million, plus an additional €2 million in performance-related bonuses, was turned down by the Brazilian club.
Both Sportitalia and Sky Sport Italia have corroborated that this updated bid, which totals €25 million inclusive of all add-ons, has now been formally presented.
It remains to be seen whether this new valuation will satisfy Flamengo`s demands. However, Roma holds a significant advantage, as it is understood that Wesley`s strong preference is to complete a move to the Stadio Olimpico.

Concurrently, AS Roma is actively working to bolster its defensive ranks under the guidance of new coach Gian Piero Gasperini. Hellas Verona`s centre-back, Ghilardi, has emerged as the latest key target for this reinforcement.
The 22-year-old defender is a consistent fixture in Italy`s Under-21 national team and had already been the subject of an offer from Spanish club Real Betis.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, a respected journalist from Sky Sport Italia, Roma`s recently submitted proposal for Ghilardi is now understood to surpass the previous bid made by Real Betis.
Ghilardi is a product of the Fiorentina youth academy, but it was during his time at Verona, following successful loan spells with Mantova and Sampdoria, that he truly began to excel and establish himself.
