Romano: Real Madrid to ‘Compensate’ Como After €70M Tottenham Bid for Nico Paz Rejected

Football & Cricket

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that Italian club Como has once again turned down a substantial €70 million offer from Tottenham for the promising young midfielder Nico Paz. This development implies that Real Madrid, Paz`s former club, will likely `compensate` Como if they choose to exercise their option to bring the Argentine talent back to the Bernabéu in the coming years.

Como Rejects Significant Tottenham Offer for Nico Paz

This marks the third reported occasion that Como has rejected an approach from Tottenham for Nico Paz. Earlier reports from Sky Sport Italia on Sunday indicated that Como had previously dismissed a €50 million bid from a North London club, clearly signaling their valuation for Paz at €70 million.

Despite Tottenham subsequently matching Como’s €70 million asking price with a new offer, which included potential add-ons, Cesc Fabregas’s team at Como still declined the proposal, as confirmed by Romano.

While Paz is formally a Como player, his former club, Real Madrid, maintains a crucial option to re-sign the 20-year-old in 2026 and 2027 for a maximum fee of €10 million. Given the immense disparity between Tottenham’s recent €70 million offer and Real Madrid’s relatively small buy-back clause, Romano indicates that `Los Merengues` would indeed `compensate` Como significantly, paying substantially more than the stipulated €10 million if they decide to bring the exciting attacking midfielder back to the Bernabéu in the future.

In the meantime, Nico Paz recently demonstrated his growing influence by scoring and assisting in Como’s impressive 2-0 victory over Lazio during their 2025-26 Serie A debut match on Sunday.
