Sassuolo has officially confirmed the acquisition of Polish international Sebastian Walukiewicz from Torino. The defender joins on a season-long loan agreement, which includes an option for a permanent transfer at the end of the current campaign.
The two clubs had reportedly finalized the agreement yesterday, allowing Walukiewicz to depart from Torino`s pre-season training and link up with his new squad. After successfully completing his medical examination, he formally signed his contract earlier today.
Walukiewicz Arrives on Loan with Buy Option

The deal is indeed structured as a loan for the season, with the possibility of a definitive purchase. Reports suggest Sassuolo will pay a €1 million fee for the one-year loan, with an additional €6-7 million required if they opt to make the transfer permanent.
Walukiewicz had only moved to Torino last summer, joining from Empoli in a transfer valued at €4.7 million. His journey in Italian football began in January 2019 when he joined Cagliari, subsequently playing for Empoli and Torino. The central defender has earned 10 caps for the Polish national team, scoring one goal.
Although recently promoted Cremonese had also expressed interest this summer, Sassuolo successfully concluded the transfer this evening, securing the defender`s services.
